In short
You can delete your Storyloka account in the app at any time, or ask us by email. Your email address, sign-in ID and plan are permanently deleted. Children never have an account, so there is nothing to delete for them.
Delete it in the app
- Open Storyloka and tap the little firefly at the top right of the Discover page.
- Tap Settings (grown-ups) and answer the grown-up check.
- Tap Grown-up account. Sign in if you are asked to.
- Tap Delete account and confirm. You will be asked for your password, or to sign in once more with Apple.
The account is deleted straight away.
Ask us by email
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, email us at storylokaa@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account". Please write from the email address on the account, so we know the request is yours. We will delete the account within 30 days and tell you when it is done.
What is deleted
- your email address
- your sign-in ID and the sign-in method you used
- your plan, whether the account is active, and when it was created and last used
What is kept, and for how long
- Server logs: kept by our host for a short period (typically no more than 30 days) and then deleted.
- Purchase records: Apple and Google keep these under their own policies. We never hold your payment details.
- Emails you sent us: kept only as long as we need them to answer you.
Readers and progress on your device
Readers, progress, favourites and notes are never stored in your account. They stay on your phone or tablet after the account is deleted. Deleting the app removes them.
If you bought Storyloka Family
Your purchase belongs to your App Store or Google Play account, not to your Storyloka account. Deleting your Storyloka account does not refund it. You can still use Restore in the app with the same store account. A plan we turned on for you ourselves ends when the account is deleted.
