For parents & grown-ups

Ten calm minutes. No autoplay.

Storyloka is a reading app you use together, not a screen you hand over. Here's how it works and what we promise.

How it works

Four little steps.

  1. 1

    Pick a story

Choose a family lesson or any chapter from five traditions. Each lesson takes about five to ten minutes.

  2. 2

    Read it together

Read aloud yourself, or let the device voice read while your child follows the words.

  3. 3

    Look and find

Explore the chapter's painting: zoom in, tick off the look-and-find list, hunt for the hidden firefly.

  4. 4

    Talk about it

One quiz question, a wonder question and a small activity give you something real to talk about.

Our promises

Built to be put down.

  • No accounts. Open the app and read. Nothing to sign up for.
  • No ads, no tracking. No analytics SDKs, no third-party trackers.
  • No autoplay or streaks pressure. Stories end. That's the point.
  • Offline. Everything is on the device: planes, car rides, grandma's house.
  • Gentle with hard stories. Difficult material is handled simply and calmly.

Questions

Grown-up questions.

What age is Storyloka for?

Family lessons are written for children aged 5 to 10, reading with a grown-up. Older children enjoy the paintings and full texts too.

Is it only for Christian families?

No. Storyloka includes the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, the Ramayana, the Arabian Nights and the Greek epics, 1,775 chapters in all. Each tradition is presented respectfully, in its own words. Families choose what to read.

Are the full texts suitable for children?

The full source texts keep their historical language and some mature themes. They sit behind a simple grown-up check (a quick sum), and you can close source access in Family settings. This is a reading aid, not a secure parental lock.

Does it need the internet?

No. Every story, painting and lesson is bundled in the app and works offline. Read-aloud uses your device's built-in voice.

What data do you collect?

None. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no cloud sync. Favourites, progress and notes stay on your device.

How are the paintings made?

Each painting is created from a written brief for that chapter and then reviewed by eye. We reject anything frightening, gory or confusing, and God is never shown as a human figure: only as light, cloud, fire or wind.

Is every chapter a full lesson?

Not yet. Every Bible chapter has its own painting and the full text, and 52 family lessons are complete. More chapter lessons are being written, and the app always shows honest coverage.
